How does it work?
Our care process is designed to be fast and efficient, ensuring you receive the attention you need without unnecessary delays.
Take your turn upon arrival
Go to the information desk and wait to be called in the waiting room.
Present your ID
Show your identification for an initial assessment that will determine whether you proceed to immediate care or an outpatient consultation.
Make your payment at billing
Pay the corresponding service fee and return to the waiting area until called.
Wait your turn according to arrival order
Service will be provided in order of arrival and based on service availability.
Initial assessment and ophthalmology consultation
Specialized staff will evaluate your visual condition; if necessary, a general ophthalmologist will assess you or arrange your referral.

The initial assessment will be carried out by a general ophthalmologist, who will review your visual condition. If your case requires it, the corresponding subspecialist will be called to continue your care jointly and promptly.

Do I need an appointment?
No. Just arrive, and you will be attended in order of arrival.
How long will I have to wait?
It depends on the patient flow. We do our best to make it quick.
What should I bring?
Your ID and any previous test results (if you have them).
Can I bring a companion?
Yes. Every patient may bring a companion if needed. It is mandatory for minors, people over 65, and people with disabilities, regardless of age.
Is it covered by my health plan or insurance?
Clínica Barraquer has agreements with prepaid medical plans, insurance companies, occupational risk administrators (ARL), and international insurance policies. You can also access the service as a private patient.
What happens if my case turns out to be a major emergency?
At Clínica Barraquer, we specialize in ophthalmology and do not make referrals to external services. If, during the assessment, a condition requiring another level of medical care is identified, we will guide you on the steps to follow, but we do not arrange transfers.
