The Private appointment is attended by our group of specialists and subspecialists, exclusively for your case in the afternoon and with the possibility that you choose the specialist of your choice. If you have a Prepaid Medicine plan, do not forget to inform it to validate agreement and coverage.

In case of requiring a lower cost institutional appointment, the appointment attended by the general practitioner in ophthalmology training of the Barraquer Institute of America is offered, with guidance from the professors of the Superior School of Ophthalmology. These appointments are scheduled in the morning hours, can be attended simultaneously with other patients and have a larger volume of appointments.
First Time Integral Appointment
The consultations at the Barraquer Clinic have a comprehensive approach consisting of two assessments: a first with a qualified Optometrist to check the Functional part of the eye and another independent appointment with an Ophthalmologist for the Clinical consultation of the eye. Both appointments are assigned on the same date and are included in the same cost.
Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm
Saturdays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm
Recommendations to attend consultation:
- Attend with time availability.
- Present yourself in information point on the first floor with 20 to 30 minutes prior to the time of your appointment, to register arrival and carry out administrative procedures.
- Always attend with a patient ID, including minors.
- Always wear the Patient Identification Sticker in a visible place during the stay in the institution.
- Pupil dilation could be performed during your assessment, preferably attend with a companion, avoid driving.
- If the patient is a minor or older adult, they must attend in the companion of a responsible adult.
- If you wear glasses or contact lenses remember to bring them at the time of the consultation.

This specialty of Ophthalmology treats the deviations or loss of the parallelism of the eyes. The professional will determine the most appropriate correction method according to the pathology.
It is dedicated to the study and treatment of defects in the optical muscles or defective visual habits. This technique includes a group of optical exercises designed to correct visual axes that are not properly coordinated. (Strabismus, Amblyopia, lazy eye …)
It is the profession responsible for conducting the primary eye exam and being the gateway to the prevention system. Regarding refractive defects of the eye, such as myopia, farsightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia it makes the corresponding correction of visual acuity with glasses or contact lenses.
