Coherent Optical Tomography (OCT)

Procedure to obtain computerized photographic images of the tissue located around the Optic Nerve. It is performed to obtain the measurement of the thickness of the Nerve Fibers Layer and the Cup / Disc ratio in patients with glaucoma or suspicion of this disease. The 360º analysis of the macula is also done for people with diseases in the retina. In this procedure a principle like ultrasound is used. In some cases, it requires dilation, and the exam lasts 10 minutes.
