COMPUTERIZED CORNEAL TOPOGRAPHY

It is done with a team called TOPOGRAPHER BRAND OPTIKON MODEL SCOUT. It is a computerized analysis that allows knowing the topography and curvature of the corneal surface in order to detect possible anomalies or individual and irregular characteristics; It is used by ophthalmologists in cases prior to laser refractive surgeries, adaptation of contact lenses, as well as for the diagnosis and monitoring of corneal injuries or diseases such as keratoconus. As a diagnostic method it is universal, but in refractive surgery patients it is specific to the laser system used at the Barraquer Clinic, since it provides the laser with information that it requires to perform a personalized ablation.

CORNEAL TOPOGRAPHY WITH SLIT

It is done with a team called CORNEAL TOPOGRAPHER, BRAND SCHWIND MODEL SIRIUS. This test allows a computerized analysis of the optical surfaces of the eyeball – Cornea (anterior and posterior surface) – Corneal thickness – Corneal diameter and Densitometry; Anterior Chamber and Angle; Anterior surface and lens densitometry. It is a universal diagnostic method. It is used for diagnosis, prognosis and evaluation of the anterior segment of the eyeball.

OPTIC NERVE TOPOGRAPHY HRT

It is done with equipment called HEIDELBERG-ENGINEERING, MODEL HRT3. It is a particularly useful study in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma since it can detect damage to the optic nerve long before the loss of neurons produces a significant alteration in visual function.
